I’m Mary Alice Blackstock – a hardworking and compassionate senior at UNC-Chapel Hill currently studying public relations and environmental studies. I have experience in both the public and private sectors, and my time at the UNC School of Media and Journalism has afforded me many opportunities to grow as a professional. Following graduation, I hope to go into a field where I can combine my passion for preserving our planet’s limited natural resources with my interests in public relations or politics.
When I’m not working or in class, you can find me volunteering with Relay for Life of UNC as one of the executive directors. I’ve been volunteering with Relay for Life for eight years now, and fighting cancer continues to be one of my passions. Through my time with Relay, I’ve not only grown to love fundraising and spreading awareness, but I’ve learned that I truly have a passion for working with people. Whether that’s coordinating events with my volunteer team or helping the community with direct service, I always have a smile on my face!
